A Place in the New Smithsonian Sounds Pretty Kool

Add another feather in the caps of Jersey City’s favorite sons, Kool & the Gang.

They’ve already been inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame, their music was included on a movie soundtrack (the first “Rocky” film), and there’s a street in Jersey City named in their honor.

And now they’re about to become part of the Smithsonian Institute’s new $500 million Museum of African-American Art And Culture, scheduled to open in the fall.
